Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

Remember the ThinkPad Tablet that came out way back in the fall of 2011? Some people liked it, some people didn't, and the ThinkPad Tablet sold with many mixed reviews. A little less than an year and a half later, Lenovo released the ThinkPad Tablet 2, in the form of a 10.1 inch, Windows 8 OS, and it's also much lighter, its weight reduced by 0.28 pounds (1.58 down to 1.3). The battery life for the Tablet 2 lasts more than 10 hours, with the original ThinkPad Tablet at only about 8 hours.



The new ThinkPad 2 has a soft, rubber-ish feel to it, and the Tablet 2 has a slate-like feel, which is good. The ThinkPad 2 is very comfortable to hold in your hands, especially because of its rubbery surface and the rounded edges and corners. In my opinion (and probably in yours, too), the ThinkPad 2 is much more comfortable to hold, due to its soft edges, unlike other rectangular tablets, such as the first iPad. The ThinkPad 2 also includes a full-size 2.0 USB port. The ThinkPad 2 is charged using a micro-USB port.

The tablet also includes a headphone jack, pen slot, dock, HDMI output, volume button and the lock/power button. Fortunately, 4G LTE is available in the US, only with AT&T. But if you're in another country, it's HSPA+, which isn't as greate as LTE (obviously).
The ThinkPad 2 also has two incredible cameras. The front camera is a 2 mega-pixel camera used mainly for self-portraits and video chatting, while the camera on the back is an 8 mega-pixel camera, the standard for modern smartphones.

Like most other tablets, the ThinkPad 2 has a resolution of 1366 x 768. Though the pixel count might not be as impressive as other tablets, the IPS display still make it an enjoyable sight. One problem, though, the ThinkPad 2 can become extremely difficult to distinguish what's one the screen in direct sunlight outside.

Lenovo IdeaPad K900: Big Size and Big Power

The Lenovo K900 is a rather large phone, which technically makes it a "phablet", such as the Samsung Galaxy Note. The phablet is rather large, at 5.5 inches. Its screen has a 1080p display with more than 400ppi (pixels per inch). The K900's vibrant and natural colors on its screen make it a pleasure to look at. The Lenovo K900 has a thickness of 6.9 millimeters, which is not surprising for a phone this size. The stainless steel casing of the K900 gives it a rather sleek and durable feel.



The K900 sports a Z2580 2GHz dual-core processor, which is a part of the Clover Trail + platform. It also includes the Android 4.1.2 OS, an excellent 13-megapixel camera, 16GB of integrated memory, media player, and many more.

Note: The K900 has not yet been released yet.

IdeaPad Yoga 11S: Windows 8 Convertible

The famous 13-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga was one of the most popular convertible Windows 8 devices. Lenovo has also recently created a new 11-inch version of the popular IdeaPad Yoga, this time also with a Windows 8 operating system.



Shrinking down the 13-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga creates a device when in tablet mode, feels closer like an iPad or a Nexus 7 or 10 than other convertible or hybrid laptops. The Yoga 11S can also have its screen folded back approximately 270 degrees, making it like a small, touch-screen device. It's great for sharing media, such as videos, in a group.

The 11-inch Yoga 11S can have up to an Intel Core i5 processor, but only at a low voltage, which means not a ton of power. The Yoga 11S also has a pretty decent IPS display, 1600x900 pixels. Besides just the common color for tablets and laptops, black, are other colors: orange, pink and gray.

The 11-inch IdeaPa Yoga will not be available until June 2013, although the popular 13-inch IdeaPad Yoga and the 11-inch RT Yoga are still widely available. Prices for the future Yoga 11S start at an approximate price of $799. A review will be done on the new IdeaPad Yoga 11S in the near future.

Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 Review

                           

The Lenovo IdeaTab can be best described as uncomplicated. This device looks as if it were heavy - but surprisingly, it is only 0.34 inches thick, and weighs a surprising 1.28 pounds. That should be good news for any consumer who intends to make this tablet an integral part of their life.

The S2110 has an  1280x800 HD IPS display that is accompanied with excellent viewing angles.

Want to know what the new Lenovo IdeaTab S2110 filled to the brim with? That's right. "Crapware", otherwise referred to as bloatware. One third of this bloatware are games, such as Solitaire and Hearts Online. The rest is a mix composed of Zinio, AccuWeather, SugarSync, Shazam and News Republic just to name a few of the bloatware. Unfortunately, these apps cannot be uninstalled - the only thing you can do is to disable it and to hide it from sight.

It's not hard for you to expect the worse out of a 10-inch keyboard when the screen is only 11 inches. It is very sturdy, and somewhat workman-like. Adding to the array of network options on the S2110 itself, are two 2.0 USB ports, one for micro-USB, as well as a full-sized SD card slot up front of the Lenovo.

Since the IdeaPad closes like a notebook laptop, logic tells us it should open like one, too. But it doesn't, ironically. The depression beneath the trackpad does not leave enough space for fingers of any size whatsoever to easily slide in and resulting in a clumsy two-handed maneuver to actually pry both halves apart. And that should be your only problem when it comes to the dock.

The keys are nice and quite solid, and bounce back with a softness we've become accustomed to on laptops. The trackpad also works well, but the surface does not allow us to glide our finger across as smoothly as we expected.
