Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

Remember the ThinkPad Tablet that came out way back in the fall of 2011? Some people liked it, some people didn't, and the ThinkPad Tablet sold with many mixed reviews. A little less than an year and a half later, Lenovo released the ThinkPad Tablet 2, in the form of a 10.1 inch, Windows 8 OS, and it's also much lighter, its weight reduced by 0.28 pounds (1.58 down to 1.3). The battery life for the Tablet 2 lasts more than 10 hours, with the original ThinkPad Tablet at only about 8 hours.



The new ThinkPad 2 has a soft, rubber-ish feel to it, and the Tablet 2 has a slate-like feel, which is good. The ThinkPad 2 is very comfortable to hold in your hands, especially because of its rubbery surface and the rounded edges and corners. In my opinion (and probably in yours, too), the ThinkPad 2 is much more comfortable to hold, due to its soft edges, unlike other rectangular tablets, such as the first iPad. The ThinkPad 2 also includes a full-size 2.0 USB port. The ThinkPad 2 is charged using a micro-USB port.

The tablet also includes a headphone jack, pen slot, dock, HDMI output, volume button and the lock/power button. Fortunately, 4G LTE is available in the US, only with AT&T. But if you're in another country, it's HSPA+, which isn't as greate as LTE (obviously).
The ThinkPad 2 also has two incredible cameras. The front camera is a 2 mega-pixel camera used mainly for self-portraits and video chatting, while the camera on the back is an 8 mega-pixel camera, the standard for modern smartphones.

Like most other tablets, the ThinkPad 2 has a resolution of 1366 x 768. Though the pixel count might not be as impressive as other tablets, the IPS display still make it an enjoyable sight. One problem, though, the ThinkPad 2 can become extremely difficult to distinguish what's one the screen in direct sunlight outside.

Full-Voltage Into the Samsung Series 7 Chronos

Modern Ultrabooks and thin laptops are rarely seen with a with full-power processors (CPUs) and a discrete graphics card (GPU). Fortunately, the Samsung Series Chronos is an exception to the majority of those laptops and ultrabooks.



The Samsung Series 7 Chronos boasts a quad-core Intel i-Series processor, a maximum of 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and dedicated AMD Radeon HD 8870 graphics. The screen is a 15.6-inch display that has a sharp 1920x1080-pixel resolution, which is what you would expect from such a powerful multimedia laptop.

The sharp high-resolution display is also a touch-screen, which is increasingly common in Windows 8 devices, but found more in super-thin ones than in midsize laptops. Fortunately, the Chronos is only a tad bit thicker than the average Ultrabook, at 20.9 mm. It leans a little to the heavy side, weighing in at 5.2 pounds, but its packed with power. The Series 7 Chronos also lacks an optical drive, which is something most thin laptops or Ultrabooks lack.

As of 1/3/2013, There is not yet a release date, though it should be out very soon.

New iMac 2012 Review

The new iMac is is beautifully designed, with a third-generation Intel Ivy Bridge processor, Nvidia's latest graphic cards, a larger hard drive, all from the 2012 PC trend line. The new iMac is fast, great to look at, and it comes with a ton of features for its price. Anyone could easily recommend the all-new 27-inch iMac for those who want a fast, all-around computer.


-Design-

Though the iMac may look very thin from the front, there is actually an enormouse bulge on its back. Even with the bulge, the iMac still has an excellent design, and the bulge won't be noticed unless viewed at an extreme angle. Apple has made the 27-inch screen of the new iMac a lot less reflective. It's not perfect, but reflections are made more subtle and harder to notice. The design of the new iMac is surprisingly sturdy.

-Performance-

The iMac Geforce GTX 680 MX is the best mobile graphic card, and the most powerful GPU (graphics processing unit) in any all-in-one computer, other than the HP Z1. The iMac's powerful graphics card can run almost virtually anything, including some of the most demanding games for the OS X, such as the Witcher 2, at max settings.
The iMac includes a Fusion Drive, which means it has 1TB (terrabyte, or 1024GB) mechanical hard-drive and a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD), together forming about 1.2TB. The files that are used most frequently are loaded from the solid-state drive. Fusion basically speeds up application loading times, transferring of files, and just about any drive-related activity. Launching just about anything on the iMac happens almost instantly.


-Conclusion-

The design is probably the most interesting feature about the iMac. A nice, thin bezel would be nice, but apparently that doesn't speed up processing power or overall utility. This all-new 2012 iMac is probably best for hardcore/serious, performance-driven users, those who need a high resolution display, incredible graphics, and disk performance.
